Why Do Birds Need Rescue?
Birds who are in need of rescue or just need to be rehome for various reasons some are listed below
- The life style of the owner has changed and can not provide time for the bird
- People have to move and are unable to take the bird with them
- Divorce
- Losing home
- Family has new child and bird is either jealous or the people can not spend time with the bird and now the bird will scream, bite, pluck, etc.. In the birds best interest to seek a new home
- Owners did not realize how much interact or how much time it the bird requires, or they were not told about all the aspect of bird ownership.
- There are so many other reasons among them abuse, neglect.
How to Request a Rescue
To request a rescue or if you are in need of rehoming your bird.
Simply email me at Harleyshaven.org and we can set up a time for you to either bring the bird to the rescue or request at pickup.
The only requirement that is requested is that the bird come to the rescue in his or her own cage.
If you are able to also donate and unused food, toys, perches, etc.. along with the bird that is greatly appreciated.
