Harley's Haven

in home privately run rescue for birds

Adoption

Harley's Haven is a temporary home for a wide variety of exotic birds.  Although the residents vary from time to time, the list below represents some of the parrots we place for adoption:

  • Blue & Gold Macaw
  • Cockatoos
  • Cockatiels
  • conure
  • parakeets
  • amazons
  • electus
  • Visit our section on BIRDS to learn more about the birds currently in our care.

If you are interested in learning more about these birds, e-mail me at Harleyshaven1@verizon.net.  I will provide details about any bird that interests you.  Please remember that many of these birds have behavioral issues which need to be addressed in the adoptive home.

The Application Process

After the quaratine period, rescued birds become available for adoption.

Individuals or families who are interested in adopting one of these wonderful birds must be well prepared for their new charge.  Carefully read the section of our site entitled "Care" and seek out additional information about the care and personality of the specific species that interests you.

Once you are well informed about the care requirements, behavioral issues, and personality of the bird you hope to adopt, you should complete the adoption application and submit it for approval.

When/if your application is approved, we will try and match you up with a bird suited to your household and your interests.  If we do not have a type of bird you would like to adopt at the time of application, we will keep your name on our waiting list.  You would then be notified when a potential match is available.

Application to Adopt

I have answered all questions truthfully and to the best of my knowledge.

I understand that completing this form does guarantee that I will be approved to adopt a Harley’s Haven bird.  I further understand that if I am approved, there is no guarantee that an appropriate match for my adoption request will be available.
